Currency matters. Reducing portfolio risk, and improving portfolio returns, by managing “uncompensated” risk

UK portfolios, invested globally, typically see between 20% and 40% of their annual risk “budget” being consumed by foreign exchange volatility. However, it is often said that currency-risk “does not matter”. Using case studies, and current market views, we explore the significant impact of FX risk on overseas investments over the last 20 years, and identify methods to transform this risk into potential profit opportunities that can be used to improve cashflow, and pay stakeholders.

Unlocking bulk annuities: Mastering data preparation for a seamless transaction

Data quality is the biggest roadblock to securing a bulk annuity deal. Poor data leads to delays, increased costs, and missed opportunities. During this session, we will discuss how to help schemes navigate this complex process efficiently, ensuring that data preparation becomes a strategic enabler for successful buy-in and buy-out deals, rather than a hurdle.

We’ll explore how schemes can take control of their data, accelerate the journey to buy-out, and do so in a controlled and efficient way. You’ll hear from experts and a client who has successfully navigated the process, offering real-world insights into what works, what doesn’t, and how to get it right the first time.
