Turning PMI exams into industry impact

Completing your PMI qualifications signifies the successful journey along a Pathway that showcases your specific pension expertise. You’ll earn a certificate that validates your skills and opens positions for promotions, senior roles, and greater industry recognition.

“For many of the roles I have done, having a qualification from the PMI was a pre-requisite, which shows the high regard that the qualifications are held in.”

Rav Anish FPMI, Director of Global Pensions Policy & Propositions at Capita Pension Solutions

It doesn’t stop there – once you complete all the qualifications, higher member grades like Associate (APMI) or Fellow (FPMI) are within reach, opening a world of opportunities.

“I sat in some Trustee meetings, and it was clear they had a broad range of knowledge picked up throughout their career, and I saw the value in expanding my own. The APMI qualification allowed me to obtain a good broad base of knowledge so I could pick up on conversations and understand terminology and topics I may not have heard on a BAU basis.”

Alice Fletcher APMI Associate Director, Project and Data Solutions, WTW

Completing your qualifications equips you with the knowledge and skills to earn a seat at the table for key organisational decisions and the opportunity to lead within governing committees. Your insights can drive meaningful change, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.

Make your voice heard by participating in exclusive events and roundtables, where you can engage with industry experts and spark meaningful discussions. This also opens the door to sharing your insights in respected publications like PMI’s Pensions Aspects magazine.

“I have written for the PMI magazine a couple of times on the topics of GMP and Technology. Writing for the magazine is a great opportunity to provide knowledge to readers on topics I find most of interest and my work focusses on. It is also an opportunity to write in a slightly different manner to get across potentially complex topics in a clear and concise manner. “ Alice Fletcher APMI Associate Director, Project and Data Solutions, WTW

Being part of the PMI community means joining a vibrant network that thrives on collaboration. Local PMI regional groups foster connections with fellow members, enriching your professional experience and amplifying your influence.

“As a member of the PMI, I also attend PMI-organised networking events and training, which provide great networking opportunities and the chance to learn from my wider colleagues within the industry.” Martin Purvis FPMI, Accredited Professional Trustee Dalriada Trustees Limited

Embrace the opportunities ahead, knowing your qualifications will propel you to make a lasting impact. This is your moment to leave your mark, step into your future and inspire those around you.
