Assessment method

Note

(NEW VERSION) - There is 1 method of assessment:

  • work-based assessment where evidence is drawn from the day to day activities carried out by the administrator

October 2021 -As we have deregulated this qualification it has become a stand-alone qualification, and not part of the Ofqual Regulated Qualification Framework (the RQF).  We have introduced a new specification that removes the regulated components and this is the new specification (please find attached).

We understand however that some learners will have started their qualification via the older version of this specification and they will have the chance to complete this via that route if they choose, or they will have the option to transfer to the new specification and complete the qualification via that route. Any previous learning will of course be transferred to the new specification route if chosen.

Learners who are wishing to complete the DPA via the older version of this specification will have a period of 12 months to do so, or they will be automatically transferred to the new specification at the end of that period.

If you have learners who are currently enrolled on to the DPA (via the old specification), who would like to transfer to the new specification, we kindly request that you send us the learners details (full name and email address), as well as the date they enrolled on to the original DPA so that we can keep a log of any transfers. This will help us monitor any final certificate requests.

(OLD VERSION) - There are 2 different methods of assessment:

  • work-based assessment where evidence is drawn from the day to day activities carried out by the administrator
  • open book case study examinations

Study time

Calendar

This qualification comprises nine work-based units. All nine units have to be taken. Unit 2 is a project and will count as a double unit in completion of this award.

Whilst this qualification is unregulated, we can only offer a guide as to completion time for each component, as this will be determined by individual working practices.

We have estimated a total of 5 hours for each unit (10 for the double unit). For study time we have estimated 30 hours per unit. Therefore TQT = 350 hours for this qualification.
