Richard is a partner in the Burges Salmon Pensions and Lifetime Savings team – this year will be his twentieth anniversary of joining Burges Salmon (apparently the appropriate gift is China!). Richard is dual qualified in Northern Ireland and England and Wales. He is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, a member of the Pensions Regulator’s industry-wide diversity and inclusion working group and sits on the Society of Pension Professionals’ Legislation Committee. He advises a range of trustee and employer clients across the full range of pensions issues from moral hazard investigations, funding negotiations and addressing historic documentation issues to de-risking (insurer buy-ins and buy-outs) and wind-up. Richard leads our work on cyber security for pension schemes.

Outside work Richard is a trustee of the Bristol Aero Collection Trust, the charity behind Aerospace Bristol.

Elena is a senior associate in Burges Salmon’s Pensions and Lifetime Savings team. She advises pension scheme trustees and companies on a broad range of pensions legal issues - such as liability management exercises, scheme mergers, moral hazard investigations and the implications of drafting and execution errors, as well as day-to-day legal and governance matters. She is pragmatic and solution focused and enjoys working collaboratively with clients and other advisers to achieve her client’s objectives.

Elena is a full member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and a member of the Society of Pension Professionals’ Defined Contribution Committee.

Sinead O’Donoghue is an associate in Burges Salmon’s Pensions and Life Savings team, advising trustees and employers on all areas of pensions law. Sinead trained at Burges Salmon, qualifying into the team in 2017. She has broad experience of all aspects of DB and DC legal issues, including benefit issues, scheme governance, buy-in/out projects and regulatory considerations. Sinead has a particular interest in pension schemes in Northern Ireland and scheme governance. Sinead is a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.

Tim is a Partner in the Forensic Services team at Crowe and leads the Firm’s cyber security and counter fraud work. He also chairs the Cybercrime and Fraud Working Groups at both the Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) and Pensions Research Accountants Group (PRAG). Tim works with pension schemes to ensure that they are appropriately protected against the latest manifestations of cybercrime and fraud in line with the expectations set by the Regulator. He helps them assess their resilience, remove known vulnerabilities and build long-term strategies to manage their cyber and fraud risk. He regularly delivers both technical-led and governance-focused cyber security projects for pension schemes.
