Amy is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at Burges Salmon. Her areas of focus include pensions disputes, and cyber security and data protection cases, as well as broader contract and commercial disputes. Amy has recently advised on several contentious matters arising out of cyber incidents. Amy is recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ by The Legal 500 and an ‘Associate to Watch’ by Chambers UK. She is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.

David is a senior consultant at Aon, providing actuarial advice to a wide range of Trustee and corporate clients. He has over 15 years’ experience in a variety of consulting roles in both the UK and Germany.

David currently leads Aon’s cyber pensions team, consisting of around a dozen consultants across the UK. He works with schemes of all sizes to help trustees and corporates manage the cyber risk associated with their pension arrangements.

David is a partner in the technology team and advises on a range of data protection, technology, intellectual property and commercial matters for clients in a number of sectors, including technology, financial services, media, retail and energy.

David has advised extensively on data protection and GDPR issues but also advises on technology-related transactions, including the outsourcing and procurement of technology products and services, software development and licensing, e-commerce issues, digital marketing, the development and exploitation of digital content and consumer issues. He also has extensive experience working on the commercial and intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on businesses in the technology sector.

David was recognised in the 2020 edition of Legal 500 as a ‘Rising Star’ in IT and Telecoms and as an ‘Associate to Watch’ for Data Protection & Information Law in the 2021 edition of Chambers and Partners. David's 2021 Chambers profile also quotes "He is able to explain complex matters in a way that I understand" and "he provides clear and commercial advice."

Hajira is an Analyst with 2 years’ experience working across a range trustee and corporate clients. Hajira has recently joined the cyber team and has been working to help inform trustees on how to keep their schemes protected as cyber risk becomes more predominant.

Ian has over 30 years of pensions experience. Ian is an experienced client manager and provides Scheme Secretarial services to several pension schemes of varying sizes and complexity, including both defined benefit and hybrid schemes, all receiving a multi-service offering from Aon.

Ian is Scheme governance specialist, ensuring relevant policies and protocols are in place to achieve best practice and advising on the impact of legislative and regulatory changes, and he bring that experience to clients on how cyber polices and protocols can be incorporated into their governance practices.

Paul is an Actuary with over 30 years’ experience advising pension schemes. As well as being Scheme Actuary to a number of large schemes, Paul created Aon’s cyber pensions team in 2018 and has spent the past 5 years advising schemes on how to manage an ever-increasing cyber risk.

Paul is a regular speaker at industry events. He is a past-president of the Society of Pension Professionals, a member of PLSA’s Policy Board and chairs the Joint Industry Forum committee on pensions dashboards.

Parmjit is a consultant at Aon, specialising in scheme secretarial and governance services for a number of pension schemes.  She has over 25 years’ experience in pensions consulting, having begun her career as an actuarial trainee and is now part of Aon’s cyber pensions team.

Robin is a Consultant who has over 12 years' experience, gained whilst working in a number of different areas of the pensions industry. Robin currently works within Aon's governance team advising a diverse range of DB schemes with assets ranging between £10M to £2Bn. Robin recently joined Aon’s cyber team, delivering advice to a range of clients.

Richard provides focused, pragmatic, advice to companies and pension scheme trustees across the full range of pensions issues - from moral hazard investigations and corporate restructurings to funding negotiations and scheme mergers, as well as the full range of ‘business as usual’ matters.

He has particular experience in matters involving the Pensions Regulator and the Pension Protection Fund. This includes having advised the trustees of the Brunel Holdings Pension Scheme throughout the lengthy moral hazard investigation process and negotiations leading to the high-profile settlement with the Coats Group.

Richard is dual qualified in Northern Ireland and England and Wales and is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.

He is a member of the Pension Regulator’s diversity and inclusion working group.

Samantha is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Pensions team and advises pension scheme trustees and companies on a broad range of pensions legal issues. She is pragmatic and helps clients to find the right solution for their scheme and risk appetite.
She leads the team’s in-house approach to cyber security for pension schemes. This has involved developing our firm’s cyber security package offering, including template documents (such as a cyber security policy and an incident response plan) and training. Samantha has also chaired a webinar and has written several blogs and articles on this topic.
She is based in Burges Salmon’s Bristol office, but is regularly in the firm’s Edinburgh office to support our pensions team based in Scotland.
Samantha enjoys delivering training sessions and has experience speaking at trustee training days and seminars. She is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
