Knowing our Scheme members isn’t always the same as understanding them. We might know something about their ages and where they live, but what do we really understand about them beyond those few data points?
A good question to ask ourselves is whether we can describe members as people. What are they trying to achieve and what gets in their way? How confident are they with money? What’s important to them outside of the world of pensions?
It’s increasingly important that we get this right, and work towards the goal of leaving no one behind. It’s time to start using data with empathy and imagination to find out who our members are, so that we can communicate with them on their terms, not ours.
In this session, David Poynton will give a practical insight for Pension Administrators to prepare them for the implications of the Dashboard. He will examine what needs to be done by Administrators and set out a timeline of action points. In particular his talk will cover what the likely impact would be on systems and call centres.

With over 13 years of Customer Operation experience in the Pension & Savings sector, David has worked and managed different teams in both front and back-office environments. A truly customer focused individual, he has helped create new customer operations processes and refine existing ones. He has extensive experience in improving both internal procedures and more importantly, customer outcomes.
At Altus, David is responsible for the ongoing development and extension of the core Pension product range.
Tamasine has over 20 years’ experience in pension, benefits and reward communication, as well as the planning and delivery of change communications relating to performance management, job restructuring and mergers & acquisitions. She designs communication campaigns and drafts communications utilising the full range of media from to print to digital. She loves to understand the ‘techy details’ and the challenge of translating these into language that others find easy to understand.
Alex has over 10 years’ experience in marketing and communications and before joining like minds, had her own marketing consultancy where she specialised in humanising brands through the power of storytelling.
As a communication consultant at like minds working with clients such as National Grid, GE, and Morrisons, Alex gives life to serious subjects whilst ensuring that all communication is engaging but clear and easy to understand. Her passion is to give everyone a voice and to feel represented so they can make their most informed decisions around their financial wellbeing and money.
Paul Stark is a director at OnBoard having joined five years ago to spearhead the international expansion; he currently leads the EMEA and APAC teams. With 15 years of experience in the board portal sector, Paul has witnessed and influenced the evolution of board portals over this time and constantly strives to improve how OnBoard supports high-performing boards.
