Don’t break the bank – the trade-off between cash and security

PMI ACADEMY TRAINING SESSION BY PENFIDA

As schemes continue to mature and get ever closer to their endgame, trustees and sponsors are looking for innovative solutions that balance the security that trustees seek and avoid the risk of trapped surplus from a sponsor perspective. Non-cash funding solutions can be a very useful tool in this context.

These solutions can often require careful negotiation and detailed due diligence; however, when structured appropriately, can lead to win-win outcomes.

This training session will describe some of the main characteristics of non-cash funding structures, the key costs and benefits for trustees and sponsors, a selection of case studies, and the Pensions Regulator’s perspective.
